Before you travel
Confirm the factory address, host, agenda and products to review. Send your specification in advance and ask which production lines and records will be available. Bring a structured checklist.
Production capability
Observe the actual process, equipment condition and staffing. Ask which steps are outsourced, how capacity is scheduled and how the supplier handles peak demand. Distinguish observations from unverified statements.
Quality controls
Ask about incoming material checks, in-process controls, final inspection and traceability. Review how defects are recorded and corrected. Check whether the sample process matches the intended production process.
After the visit
Write a factual summary with open questions, supporting documents and agreed actions. Resolve uncertainties before committing to the order. A visit is one part of due diligence, not a guarantee of future quality.
